Analyses of major element composition of the Neoproterozoic (Upper Riphean and Vendian) sedimentary rocks of the Varanger Peninsula, Northern Norway.

Abstract

189 samples collected from 21 Neoproterozoic sedimentary formations of theVaranger Peninsula, North Norway. The samples were analysed for major elementsat the Institute of Precambrian Geology and Geochronology in St. Petersburg.Interpretation of basin development and its tectonic setting, and of thecomposition of the provenance area of clastic material were the main objectivesof this work.
