Forkortet: Bygdin is a mountain-lake in central Norway at 61\u00B0 20' N. Bagn is a place farther to the South at 60\u00B0 50' N. On the schematic birds-eye-view p. 18 Bygdin lies at J; Bagn at Bg. The base of the Archaean, in which the deeper parts of the valleys are eroded out as seen in the figure. Upon is rests the Cambro-Silurian composed of dark blue-grey quartzitic sandstones and argillaceous schists; the fosils are few. Overlying this there is a light reddish and greyish sandstone (the dotted mountain Mellane at M. in the figure). The distant mountains at J. consist of gabbro and allied rocks of eruptive origin. A section of Mellane (M.) is found on p. 28. Cambrian fossils (etasje 1) are discovered by the present author in the schists at G. and Ordovician fossils (etasje 3) by Mr.Bjørlykke at J. The uppermost part of the mountain consist of lightcoloured sandstone, which in its appearance is not much different from many vareties of true Cambrian \"sparagmite\". We must consequently in the future discriminate between two \"sparagmites\" in central Norway.
