In a paper of 1959 the writer described boundaries between the Ordovician \"phyllite formation\" and the overlying \"Valdres Sparagmite\" in and just east of the Grønsennknipa mountain mass, west of the Valdres valley, and found the contact everywhere to be a tectonic one. Evidently the upper complex, mainly made up of conglomerates in the western part of the area, and of feldspathic sandstones in the eastern part, had come to its present position by thrusting. From a locality farther to the southeast, in the little mountain Valsjøknatten, between the small lakes Valtjønn and Knattetjønn H. Reusch (1901) has published observations which he thinks indicate a more or less conformable and non-tectonical contact between the two groups of rock under consideration. During a short visit is September 1960 the writer had the oportunity of studying this locality and found the geology to be less simple. There seems little doubt that the Valdres Sparagmite has been moved in relation to the phyllite. The exact boundary could, however, not be seen.
