Kongsvingerfeltets geologi.
Abstract
The rocks and tectonic features of the Kongsvinger area are described. The area consists of steeply dipping, probably isoclinally folded supracrustal rocks separated by granites, the latter being cataclastic and schistose. Fault zones in two directions, NW-SE and N-S are common. The main structural features are thought to be of Dalslandian age. The supracrustal rocks consist of basic schists with quartz keratophyre, meta-greywacke, lepites and feldspathic quartzite. These rocks are considered to have been deposited in geosynclinal environments during the Dalslandian period. In the northern central part of the area the quartz-feldspar rocks were albitized and chessboard albite originated of both microcline and plagioclase.
