dc.description.abstract | Forkortet:The Western gneiss region. The lightest red in the map is gneiss, the darkestred is an amphibole-bearing rock, the Evanger diorite, mostly made schistoseby compression; the middle red represents granite the structure of which is asa rule foliated particularly by the parallel position of the laminae of mica. Many excellent cuttings may be studied along the railway westwards from theVangs Lake. The figures on p.12 and the following pages are from this locality.Figures on p.12 and the following pages are from this locality. I and II showlight coarse-grained granite in diorite with planeparallel structure. It isinteresting to note, that the mica within the granite has assumed a positionin accordance with the structure of the environing. In the next figuredifferent varieties of the compressed dioritic rock occur together giving theimpression of stratification. | |
