Two minerals of the linnaeite series, A3S4, have been identified and examined in ores from two localities in the Alta district of Finnmark. Their compositions show them to be siegenite and carrollite, respectively. Associated minerals in each case are bornite, chalcopyrite, neodigenite, and a little covellite. Tennantite is also found in the siegenite-bearing ore. The properties, chemical compositions and modes of occurence of the minerals are discussed in this short note which appears to be the first published record of their occurence in Norway.
