Abstract

Forkortet: 1. The occurrence of peat-mosses. The peat occurs most abundantly in the neighbourhood of the coast line owing to the greater humidity of the climate there. The different kinds of mosses and their characetristics as described in the first part of this book are here referred to. 2-8. Description of mosses at Lista, Jæren, Karmøy, Bergen; in Romsdal, in the environs of Trondheimsfjord and within the territory included in the map of Tønsberg. 9. About the area of the examined mosses etc. The described mosses within the territory of the map of Tønsberg constitute about 1.03 per cent of the whole areas of the country.
