In this short publication is mentioned what we today know on uranium and thorium in Norway. U occurs accessory in gneisses and granites, dispersed in Cambrian shales, associated with quartz and calcite in brecciated zones, and on secondary veins of quartz and at last in pegmatites. Th is found in the syenite and nefelinsyenite rocks of the Oslo region, in the common feldspar-quartz quarries, but the most important deposit is Rødberget near to Ulefoss. The Rødberget also contains up to 3 % Ce-earth and app. 0,1 % Nb2O5. With the prices on U and Th today, it is not possible to quarry U and\/or Th economically alone from known Norwegian deposits today. A list of all minerals containing more than 0,1 % U and\/or Th found in Norway are placed at the end.
