Assessment of metal contamination in the north-western part of the Norskerenna
Abstract
The abundances of metal pollutants such as As, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, V and Zn have been documented in 128 short (<0.6m) sediment cores, collected from the north-eastern part of the Norskerenna, off-shore south-western Norway, The primary objective of this investigation was to assessment the recent metal contamination of the seabed. Most of reported metals were analysed by ICP-AES except for Hg, Cd, Pb and As which were determined by atomic absorption. A Leco SC analyser was used for the TOC determinations.
