dc.description.abstract | Thirty-one selected localities are brefly described along a traverse fromPorsangerfjorden to Tanafjorden. The localities provide a general impressionof representative rock types and their deformation in the Gaissa and Lakse-fjord Nappe Complex, as well as the mylonitic rocks in the basal thrust ofthe overlying Kalak Nappe Complex. Attention is paid to the stromatolitebiostromes in the Porsanger dolomite. These biostromes, which are a some-what unique feature of Norwegian geology, are beautifully exposed in partsof Porsangerfjorden. | |
