Langfjeldene is the great mountainridge, which runs through southern Norway. Mr.Andr.M.Hansen have forwarded the hypothesis, that in the region east of it (map p. 52) there existed at the end of the ice-age large lakes dammed in by the last rests of the melting ice. The present author does not find that there are reasons for such a supposition. Some inland \"strand-lines\" from the northermost part of the region under consideration age figured on page 59. If they marke shores of ancient lakes (which is not at all sure), it is quite a local phenomenon.
