dc.description.abstractSeveral potential graphite occurrences in Vesterålen were selected for follow-up work based on helicopter-borne geophysical data. The purpose for this is to confirm the existence of the graphite and next to briefly evaluate the quality and quantity of the graphite-bearing structures. The goal for the project, which is sponsored by Nordland county administration, is to increase the knowledge of each individual graphite occurrence. By doing so, the interest in graphite prospecting in Northern Norway may increase, effective prospecting can be implemented, and land planning can be developed with appropriate regard for areas with potential for economic graphite.
