Precambrian rocks from the area west and east of Mjøsa, South Norway, are described, and modal analyses presented. The main regional divisions are from west to east: Grey plagioclase gneisses, the main granite-mylonite zone, the transition zone, and the homogenous red gneisses east of Glomma. A small area of relatively fine-grained rocks north of Storsjøen, Nord-Odal, is also briefly described.
